The College recently reconnected with Jack Bannister (SPC 2012-17) who is studying a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in accounting at Federation University Ballarat, and has many great memories of his time at SPC.

Where has life taken you since leaving SPC?
Life hasn鈥檛 taken me far very often, mainly just Sri Lanka (on a humanitarian trip at the end of Year 12 instead of a Schoolies trip) really. Aside from that I鈥檝e just found myself at Federation University and my friends鈥 places more often. I haven鈥檛 wanted to go far just yet, I want to get financially stable before I consider exploring the world. I鈥檓 studying a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in accounting. It involves a great amount of Maths and Legal Studies that I used prior in high school. I didn鈥檛 do accounting at St Patrick鈥檚 so I didn鈥檛 have any of that knowledge to go off though, but I think I鈥檓 doing well considering. After I complete my under graduate, I intend to further my studies to a post graduate in a CPA or CA course to have one of their qualifications.
What are your fondest memories of your time at St Patrick鈥檚 College?
My fondest memories at St Patrick鈥檚 would be hanging out with my friends I鈥檝e had since primary school and ones I have made through secondary school, just hanging out by those poles outside of the OCA Pavilion. There was also math class with Mr (Eamonn) Nolan and any time talking with Mr (Danny) Moore.
Which teacher from your time at SPC had the greatest impact on you? Why?
The teacher with the greatest impact on me would be either Mr (Danny) Moore, Mr (Steven) Rajki or Mr (Kieran) Baxter. They were all a delight to talk to and Mr Moore had insight into ethics, Mr Rajki made physics fun and Mr Baxter was bizarre and fantastic.
How has your education shaped your professional life?
School has greatly shaped my professional life for Maths, as well as Legal Studies are fundamental concepts for what I鈥檓 doing.
How has your time at SPC shaped your personal values and your family life?
St Patrick鈥檚 has influenced my personal values through the experiences I went through there and the people I talked to. My ethics and morals were flushed out for me to examine and discuss among others. My values have been shaped accordingly and my family life is great, I get along with many in my extended family.
If you could pass on one message to the students of today, what would it be?
Enjoy school and youth while you can.
